The following are guidelines for developing web pages for Schools or Departments in Millard School District.
You may choose the html editor of your choice. When you are ready to publish your internet pages on the web server you must have approval for the internet pages by your principal. You can then contact the Technology Department and they will give you a FTP account and password. At that point you will be in control of your web pages.
- · General Rule: Student last names are never to be published.
- · General Information: Each home page should have general information about the school or department. Some graphic is highly recommended.
- · Upcoming events or announcements: This could be a calendar of athletic, PTA or school specific activities.
- · Academic areas of emphasis: This would be areas where the school has some student projects going on in specific academic areas that they want to share with net users. They may also have a mailbox for receiving information about such projects in the school. This also may contain information on students that have been recognized for academic achievements.
- · Student Information Officers or student body issues: Along with school demographics if desired.
- · Faculty: Faculty information could include subjects taught or other areas of interest plus an e-mail address for the faculty member. Do not publish staff photos, home addresses or phone numbers without written permission.
- · Page Location: The only location for school pages are the districts web server, any other locations are not acceptable.
- · Student Pages: Student home pages are not allowed. School web pages are to represent information on educational projects at the school. No links to student pages or Chat groups are permitted.
- · Students and teachers are to use appropriate language and grammar.
- · Students and teachers are to follow Copyright and Permission laws when publishing Web pages.
